

Luís Mileu is a Portuguese photographer and visual storyteller whose work explores memory, identity and social history. His practice spans photography, documentary and exhibition design, connecting personal stories with collective memory.
Among his major works is Futuros Presidentes, produced in northern Mozambique for NGO Helpo with the official support of the Portuguese Presidency, portraying children as future leaders and highlighting education in contexts of inequality. Another key project, Americans45, documented a road trip across the United States on the eve of the 45th presidential election, capturing a ground-level portrait of a divided nation.
His work has been shown in Portugal and abroad, including Berlin, Brooklyn and Slovenia, with solo exhibitions such as A Certain Glance (2025), Bi-ssente (2023), Juliana (2020) and Futuros Presidentes (2018–19). His books include Juliana, Futuros Presidentes and One City, One Name.
