Leone is a director with a cinematography background whose work moves seamlessly between commercial and narrative projects. Growing up surrounded by his mother’s paintings and his father’s films, he began recreating favourite movie scenes with his first handycam, later turning his high school poetry essays into short films, including a horror short shot overnight at school.
A graduate of the National Film Conservatory, Leone directed experimental shorts screened at Fantasporto and Festival Microfilmes de Lisboa.
His first campaign, Amor, a poignant piece on Alzheimer’s disease, received international recognition. His first TV limited series, Finisterra, which he co-wrote and co-directed, aired on RTP1 and RTP Play, won awards, and was recognized at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
